Dear Customers
In the blink of an eye we are here celebrating our 2nd anniversary at the nursery on the 12th February 2023.
We really could not believe how fast 2 years have gone !
Those of you who visit us often know that we are always on the go down here at the Nursery.
We would like to say its all been plain sailing but like any new business we met a few bumps ‘in the road’.
Though we took over the Nursery at the end of November 2020, we officially opened our doors 12th February 2021.
The Covid pandemic meant another lockdown in January 2021.
So we added the small farm shop, selling fresh fruit, vegetables, milk, butter, honey, sourdough bread and other local produce.
What did our first year bring…
A road closure during the summer then sadly we lost our polytunnel in Storm Arla.
so we are just waiting now for some good weather and a calm day to get the new one fitted.
We met some amazing local growers of plants and vegetables, who knew the Tamar Valley has been hiding all these wonderful resources?
What’s new for 2022….
We are now moving towards the next exciting stage of Nursery life.
We have been given Full planning permission to sell hot drinks, cake and cream teas to those of you who venture down this way.
We have installed a small kitchen and tea room on site, and have a designated outside seating area.
After that nice walk you will be able to sit outside and enjoy the quiet location, weather and lovely views.
Mark is more than happy to deliver locally (subject to availability)
If you haven’t visited us yet, please do we are a little further down the Calstock Road, Gunnislake past The Rising Sun Inn.
You can’t miss us, we have some wonderful signs designed by Emma showing you exactly where we are.
What’s new for 2023/24
Start work on our Tropical Garden and Arched walkway to increase seating and create another enjoyable space for our customers to relax.
With the unfortunate closure of Endsleigh Garden Nursery at Milton Abbott start selling Tamar Valley Variety fruit trees.
Be as competitive as we possibly can and start selling coal for the winter.
What’s new for 2025
Signage has been an issue since we started so we now have two signs installed near the square Gunnislake , one coming down the Hill and one on the way up.
Start on steps up to the upper Level then create a Japanese themed garden.
Change the tea room from the back of the building to the front to create a larger space.
Look to restart Alpaca visits at the nursery
Thank you for all your ongoing support
Best Wishes
Mark & Jeanette
